Nettie McLean
Nettie (Rivera) McLean, 82, of Wallingford, loving wife of 60 years to Eugene P. McLean, passed away Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018 at her home. She was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on March 2, 1936, a daughter of the late Rafael and Sixta (Traverso) Rivera. She worked as an interviewer for the State of Connecticut Unemployment Office for many years until retiring in 1997. In addition to her husband, Eugene, she is survived by her sons, Gene McLean and his wife, Cheryl, of Kannapolis, N.C., and John McLean and his wife, Karen, of Wallingford; her brother, Germano Tombari; her grandchildren, Cory Santagata and her husband, Marc, Karley, Kyle, and Nash McLean; her great-grandchildren, Joey and Gianna Santagata; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Rafael Rivera; and daughter, Jane E. McLean. Her family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., Thursday, Sept. 6 from 3 to 6:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 7 at 9 a.m. from the funeral home, when the funeral cortege will proceed to Church of the Resurrection, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery in Wallingford.
