On August 24, 1946, John Roy Bradford and Nancy Jeanne Smith united in a loving marriage that lasted until John's death in 2012. Jeanne accompanied John through his career in the US Navy, finally settling in Richardson Texas in 1959. The family joined First United Methodist Church in Richardson where Jeanne served as a secretary for over 40 years and was active in several of the groups including the Wayfarers and Apostles classes. From childhood on, her family and friends were the center of Jeanne's life and she found joy in them, often saying she was lucky to have had a wonderful life. Following John's death, Jeanne moved to Shreveport to live close to her family. Jeanne was a loving wife and mother and we will miss her very much. Jeanne's family offers special thanks to Chris Johnson, Denise Nicholson, and Van Russell, her faithful and dedicated caregivers, who provided loving support that helped make her last few years so happy. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 on January 17th in the chapel at First United Methodist Church of Richardson, TX. Donations may be given to First United Methodist Church of Richardson or the charity of your choice.
