Nancey Jean (Meek) Mahaffey
Nancey Jean Mahaffey passed away on Sept. 11, 2019. She was born on July 24, 1945, in Ogden, Utah, to Beau and Elaine Meek. She grew up on cattle ranches and came to Fort Bragg at 18 years old. She worked as the executive secretary at Georgia-Pacific for 30 years and at the movie theater for 50 years (first at the State Theater; then at Coast Cinema). Her grandbabies were her greatest joy. Nancey was preceded in death by her parents, Beau and Elaine Meek. She is survived by her husband, Chris Mahaffey; son, Rayne (Annelise) Mahaffey; daughters, Suzette Newsome, Natalie (Jack) Bush, and Tiffany Mahaffey; grandchildren, Greyson and Avianna Mahaffey; brother, Brad (Debbie) Meek; and sisters, Janice (Gerald) Maughan and Susan (Jerry) Foster. Nancey will be remembered for her loving, kind and caring personality.
