Zachary T. Rohde
Zachary Thomas Rohde, 23, New Haven, formerly of Decatur, Ill., passed away suddenly Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016. Zach was born Jan. 2, 1993, the son of Tom Rohde and wife Ann, nee Rayburn, in Decatur, Ill. He lived life with adventure and enthusiasm. Zach's warm smile lit up any room and his positive outlook on life was contagious! Zach was an active member of the Franklin County Jeep Club, where he enjoyed trail riding and rock climbing with his Jeep. He loved the outdoors, water skiing and wake boarding, and was even known to slalom on a canoe paddle! Zach was gifted with music and passionate about learning to play new instruments. He shared his love of music with Andrea, as they have played together since early childhood. Zach was a volunteer firefighter for the Harristown Fire Protection District and De Soto Fire Department. He loved life, living it to the fullest, and treasured being outside in nature. The day before Zach's death was spent in the company of family. On Sunday he took his final Harley ride after a great barbecue supper with friends. Zach left this world enjoying his final sunset ride. He is survived by his loving parents, Tom and Ann Rohde; one sister, Andrea Newkirk and husband Jacob; one niece, Nova Newkirk; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to noon at Life Foursquare Church, 2954 West Ash Ave., Decatur, IL 62526. A celebration of life will follow at noon at the church.
