Yvonne Mary Franklin, 76, passed away July 23, 2016. She was born to Albert and Retah Hill on Feb. 26, 1940. She grew up with her brothers, Albert "Sonny," Alfred "Porky," David, Dale and two sisters, Nina and Thaylia "Talli," in Michigan, where she graduated from high school at Brighton. While in Michigan, Yvonne met and married Robert Franklin, and gave birth to their firstborn, Vincent. In 1962, the family of three moved to Arcadia, California, were Brett and Chad were born. The family of five moved to Anchorage, where they lived for three years, and to St. Cloud, Minnesota, living there for five years. In 1975, Yvonne's husband got a job hauling pipe to build the trans-Alaska oil pipeline and moved the family to Fairbanks. Yvonne got a job with Allied Vanlines and retired after 10 years. She than gained an additional retirement with the University of Alaska. She helped her husband when he was president with the Alaska Farm Bureau, and in the meat-processing business that they built, called B-Y Farms. She was a faithful Jehovah's Witness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Retah; brother Alfred, husband Robert, and her son, Chad. She is survived by two sons, and their partners; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren: her son, Vincent, and his wife, Cindee, and their children; Jamie (Ian) and daughter, Charlotte; and Ryan (Kiennah); her son, Brett, and his wife, Tanya; her late son, Chad's wife, Katheryn, and their children; Robert and his son, Jackson; and Jason and his son, Chad.
