She is survived by her son, Paul Yockey in Petaluma, and her daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and Norman Fischer in Muir Beach, as well as her twin grandsons, Aron and Noah Fischer and three great-grandchildren, Indiana, Shenandoah and Luna Sol all in Brooklyn. Yo was born in Corning, California on March 12, 1923, grew up in San Leandro and Hayward, and in 1947 married Donald William Yockey in Oakland. Yolonda and Donald moved to southern California in 1954, where they raised their children and developed careers. She was the Personal Director at Bullock's Department Store in Torrance for many years. Yo will be remembered as a courageous, adventurous, generous and lively lady, who always had a kind greeting and worked hard to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated. She was an epic hostess, enjoyed travel, photography, cooking and lively conversation, especially about politics and sports. Yolonda Yockey was always impressed and supportive of the work done by the following organizations: Planned Parenthood, ACLU, and Environmental Defense Fund. Gratitude for donations to these organizations in her memory.
