Winfried D. Cziska
Winfried D Cziska Fred Cziska was born in Germany in 1941. He immigrated to the United States in 1952 through the grace of his American G.I. Uncle James Dyer and Fred's aunt Ursula Dyer. He attended Galileo High School In San Francisco where he met his wife of 54 years and love of his life Terry. Fred loved life and going fast. He enjoyed motorcycles, sail boats, speed boats, vintage racecars, snowmobiles, and airplanes. He also liked playing on his tractor and performing maintenance to a meticulous degree. Beyond a tough guy exterior, Fred had a brilliant mind, stinging wit, and heart of gold. He championed the cause of the underdog and mentored hundreds if not thousands of men and women in his 50 year career in the auto industry. He rose from mechanic to dealership owner through hard work and determination, and he always stuck to his priciples of accountability and integrity. Along his journey he joyfully served as surrogate dad to countless people. He passed away October 5th surrounded by his loving family and close friends after having sustained injuries during an incident at Sonoma Raceway while racing his beloved 1971 Shadow Can Am Mk3. He is survived by wife Terry, daughter Monique, and sons Ron and Fred, Jr., his grandchildren Jaymes, Trevor, Sarah, and Elise, his mom Herta White, sister Petra Gayheart; Maxwell and Samson his pet dog sons, miss him terribly.
