Oct. 3, 1944 - April 17, 2017 Willie Mae Boykin Lewis, a lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama. She was born to the union of Willie B. and Arletha Boykin. She accepted Christ at an early age at Friendship Baptist Church (Crichton). She later united with Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Whistler-Inc. under the leadership of Rev. McAboy, and Rev. J.J. Phillips. Over the past 58 years of her membership she served a variety of positions. She was a graduate of Mobile County Training School class of 1962 and Selma University class of 1964. She was employed by Scott Paper Company and worked as a Driver's License Examiner for 29 years for the Department of Public Safety. She was a loyal member of the Mayme Cunningham Federated Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Alvin, Reese, Ricky, and Toni; her two sons, Samuel Lewis, II and Charles Young. She leaves cherished memories to her devoted husband of 51 years, Samuel Lewis; her daughter, Sandy (Rutherford) Hill; two sons, Wailan (Tawana) Lewis, Wade (Joy) Lewis; 12 grandchildren; 2 goddaughters; 1 godson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. Celebration of Life hour at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Bernard Lambert, Sr., Pastor and Officiating Minister. Interment will follow at the Whistler Cemetery, Whistler, AL. Arrangements are entrusted to the careful direction of Reese Funeral Home 925 S. Bessemer Ave. Prichard, AL.
