In memory of
Mr. William J. "Bill" Werzyn
Mr. William "Bill" J. Werzyn, 65, of Waynesboro, PA left his earthly home Saturday, October 15, 2016 and joined his heavenly family. Born March 22, 1951 in Waynesboro he was the son of the late Joseph and Ann (Fialkowski) Werzyn. His education began at St. Andrews Catholic School. From there he went on to graduate from Waynesboro Area Senior High School with the class of 1969. He then attended Alliance College in Cambridge Springs, PA. Bill was a graduate of New York Institute of Professional Photography and the School of Animal Science's Professional Animal Care Program. He and his wife of over 43 years, Cynthia (Lohman) Werzyn were married on May, 25 1973 in Waynesboro. Bill owned and operated Town Camera Shop and Photography Studio in Waynesboro. He was a member of the Blue Ridge Sportsman's Association, Eagles Club, Inc., and the National AARP. He was a past member of the Greater Waynesboro Chamber of Commerce and the Retail Bureau. God blessed Bill with a creative personality and he was a man of varied interests. His love of music started as a young boy when he got his first set of drums at Christmas. Over the years he played guitar and drums with different bandmates who became lifelong friends. Bill played in venues from Pennsylvania to Florida and shared his musical gifts through teaching others to play guitar and drums. Nature was where Bill found his solitude and quiet moments. Hiking, cross-country skiing and fishing were among his many outdoor activities. While Bill could be the life of the party, you never knew what he was going to say or do. He could talk with anyone about a wide range of subjects. He had an expansive knowledge base developed from his love of reading. Bill was a constant surprise. He was a devoted partner to his wife Cyndi through their many adventures. Bill loved his two shelties, Sheldon and Molly, and Joey Smelly Cat. Bill always had a good story to tell and those who loved him will cherish the many "Bill stories" they will continue to tell. In addition to his wife he is survived by one brother, Michael Werzyn and his wife Judy of Loveland, CO; his brother-in-law Stephen Lohman and his wife Debi of Waynesboro; and five nephews, David Clagett, Joshua Lohman, Alan Lohman, Seth Lohman, Benjamin Lohman and their families, all of Waynesboro. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 20, 2016, in St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Augusty Valomchalil, M.S.S.C.C. officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.
