In memory of
WILLIAM SALIERNO
William E. Salierno Happiest with his family William E. Salierno passed peacefully on Jan. 9, 2018, beside his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Amelia; his daughter, Anne (Salaycik), wife of the late Michael J. Salaycik, and two grandchildren, Michael and Alexandria. William was born in Brooklyn with his sister, Raffaela, who survives him, and brothers, Michael and Victor, both deceased. William moved to Staten Island in 1964 with his wife and daughter. He was the happiest spending time with his family, especially during Sunday dinners and numerous travels on cruises and to the islands. His hobbies included stamp collecting, puzzles, visits to OTB, Lotto scratch-offs, and card games. William served as a Merchant Marine and was an honorable U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, serving in Okinawa and the Panama Canal, as a Corporal MP. William's charisma, personality, and wit will be forever missed. The ones he loved will keep that spirit and energy alive and hold all of their memories with him as a treasure.
