William Emil Rudhman
William Emil Rudhman June 2, 1918 - Sept 3, 2016 William Emil Rudhman, 98, passed away at his home in Minden, Nevada on September 3, 2016, with family at his side. William was born to William H. Rudhman and Edna A. Liljeblad on June 2, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from York High School in Elmhurst, IL. William entered active military service on Oct. 21, 1941 where he served with the 116th Infantry in the European Theater where he prepared over-lays for ground operations. William was at the landings at Normandy. He also prepared an illustrated tank manual -- the text of which had been captured from Nazi General Rommel. William was awarded the Bronze Star and the WWII Victory Medal. William attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, Schrivenham-American University in England, and Modesto Junior College. In 1947, William joined the Stanislaus County Assessors's office in Modesto, CA where he worked until his retirement. His true passion was painting whether it was in oils, watercolors, or acrylics with his painting totaling more than 1,000. He also did caricatures, engravings and wood carvings. William's artistic career spanned more than 55 years. William was also a musician and singer where he and his second wife Edna Carlson, performed in the Auburn, CA and Carson City, NV musical Follies for more than 20 years. William is survived by his step-son Craig Carlson (Liz) of Chicago, Illinois and six grandchildren. William was a vibrant, creative force whose generous, caring spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him. www.cvobituaries.com
