William Herman "Bill" Rinker
Rinker William "Bill" Herman Rinker, age 83, passed away at home on October 15, 2016 ending his courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born on May 6, 1933 in Bucyrus, Ohio the son of Herman W. Rinker and Cleo (Smith) Rinker Scott. Bill proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired in 1972 after 20 years of service. His years in the military included both national and international travels. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Bill also retired from Sears and was a member of the Lexington area Senior Citizens. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing and pen collecting. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns. Bill was a loving and caring husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol (New) Rinker; two sons, Michael (Gloria) Rinker of Kyle, Texas and Gregory Rinker of Westerville; two daughters, Karla (Daniel) Corl of Mount Vernon and Rhonda Dobbs of College Station, Texas; 12 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two half-sisters, Valarie and Marcia. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father Clarence Scott. Per Bill's request there will be no services. The DOWDS-SNYDER FUNERAL HOME of Mount Vernon is honored to serve the family of William "Bill" Herman Rinker.
