William C. Pryor
William C. "Bill" Pryor, 85, of Marianna, West Bethlehem Township, died unexpectedly Saturday, October 15, 2016, in his home. Born May 28, 1931, in Lone Pine, he was a son of the late Raymond C. and Ruth B. Martin Pryor. Mr. Pryor was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1950 to 1953 as an airman, 1st class. He was a left waist gunner aboard a B-29 Superfortress and flew 21 combat missions. For his service, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and Air Medal with one Air Crew Badge, as well as numerous citations. He was owner and operator of Pryor Bus Lines for more than 25 years before retiring in 1989. Mr. Pryor was a member of Steele-Lillie American Legion Post 744 of Marianna and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He is survived by a brother, Lee A. Pryor and wife Patricia "Patsy" of Marianna and three nieces whom he adored, Cindy Zubehevich, Kristen Durkin and Shauna Hutchinson, as well as several great nieces and nephews, Jannon and Jamal Zubehevich, Skylar Devecka, Gavin and Serena Durkin and Jackson Hutchinson. Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Mildred Hoover. Friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, in John B. Greenlee Funeral Home, 2830 Main Street, Beallsville.
