William "Bill" Ivan Pascoe passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on the evening of October 3, 2016 at 79 years of age. Bill lived in Oro Valley, Arizona and was preceded in death by his elder brother, Kent Pascoe, of Penn Valley, CA. Bill is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna Marie, son Timothy with his wife Rowena, and granddaughter, Desli with her husband, Aaron McCoy. Bill was born in Nevada City, CA and, in his younger years, Bill would work as a printing teacher at the Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur, Oklahoma. He coached wrestling and football. Bill also loved to pan for gold in Northern California. Bill attended the Berkeley School of the Deaf and later graduated with a Major in Psychology from Gallaudet University in Washington DC. Bill is best known for his contribution to the Northern California Association of the Deaf -- which he cofounded -- and for many years he evaluated and interviewed interpreters for American Sign Language throughout the state of California. Bill retired after 25 years as a printer at the Office of State Printing in Sacramento, CA. In his final years, Bill loved to sit comfortably, watch old Westerns, and sneak treats to the family dogs, Sierra, Homer, and Winchester. Bill will be remembered as a wonderful communicator who loved to spend time with family and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held in Oro Valley, AZ on November 11, 2016, which would have been Bill's 80th birthday.
