William Morris Jr.
William Morris Jr., 87, of Valley Inn, Monongahela, died Friday, October 7, 2016, in his home. Born June 15, 1929, in Donora, he was a son of William G. and Goldie Hamilton Morris. For more than 40 years, he worked as a machine operator at the former Associated Box Corp. in New Eagle until their closing. After his graduation from Monongahela High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving two years before being honorably discharged and re-enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, where he served during the Korean conflict. He was a member of Carroll Township American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time in his garden. Surviving are his wife Therese Malloy Morris, whom he married November 26, 1964; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William G. and Vergie Morris of Monongahela and Robert A. Morris of Charleroi; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and John Wash of Martinsville, Ind.; a sister, Alma and husband William Hess of Monongahela; five grandchildren, Christopher Stewart, William G. Jr., Stephanie, Samantha and Maria Morris. Deceased are two brothers, Paul and Ronald Morris. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, in First Baptist Church, 601 West Main Street, Monongahela, with the Rev. Mark Schollaert officiating.
