William R. "Sonny" Miller Jr.
William "Sonny" Rufus Miller, Jr. went home to be with his Savior, October 14, 2016 at the age of 85. He was born to William Rufus Miller and Imogene Halbert Miller on January 28, 1931 in Nacogdoches, Texas. He was lovingly called "Sonny" by his family and Bill by his friends and co-workers. Sonny received a Golden Handshake and retired from Shell Oil Co. after 27 years of devoted service. He was proud to have served his country in the 7th Division of the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1950's. Sonny loved his family and the Lord. He regularly attended First Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas since it was first built, transferring from Second Baptist Church of Pasadena, Texas. Sonny is preceded in death by his father, William Rufus Miller and mother, Imogene Halbert Miller. Sonny's surviving family members include his loving wife of 59+ years, Frances Marie Miller, his son, William Michael Miller of Los Alamos, NM; his daughter, Vicki Miller Raab and husband, Quinton Joe Raab, Jr. of Sugarland, TX; his sister Julia Anne (Miller) Truitt of Pittsburg, TX; his four grandchildren, Shannon (Raab) Goble and her husband, Charles Goble, Brandon Raab and wife Mollie Raab of Chicago, IL; Sarah Raab of Edwardsville, IL; Michelle Miller of Denver, CO; one great grandson, Liam Scott (Raab) Goble; and many more loving relatives and friends. The funeral service was held Saturday, October 22nd, at First Baptist Church Pasadena; interment followed at Nacogdoches Sunset Cemetery.
