William George Luppold, Sr. of Westford, Navy Korean War Veteran; Sullivan Brothers Printers retiree; 86 WESTFORD -- William George Luppold Sr., 86, of Westford, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016, at his home in Westford after a lengthy illness. For 50 years, he was the beloved husband of Abigail D. "Gail" (Grundstrom) Luppold. He was born in Lowell on August 29, 1930, a son of the late Bernard and Leola (Gardner) Luppold. William was a Navy Korean War Veteran and served his country for 3 years. He worked at Sullivan Brothers Printers for 42 years and retired in 1995 (Local #109, and the Teamsters). After Retirement, He went on to become a Financial Officer with the American Legion Post #159, and was a longtime member of the East End Club. William loved his family, was an avid Boston sports fan and was always up for a good laugh. He will be greatly missed by his family and his friends. His family would like to thank the Hospice program and VA, who did a tremendous job caring for and comforting him. Besides his loving wife, Gail, he is survived by his two sons, William Luppold, Jr. and his wife, Samantha of Tyngsboro, and Kenneth Luppold and his wife, Robin of Riverview, FL; seven grandchildren, Colleen, Bryan, Deven, Sean, Kyle, Joshua, and Eddison; his older brother, George Luppold of Union, NJ; He was loved by many sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephews and cousins. William was predeceased by his brothers, Bernard and John "Pat" Luppold and his sister, Muriel Dumas. "Death leaves a heartache, no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal". LUPPOLD, SR. -- Family and friends may call at the J. A. HEALY SONS FUNERAL HOME, 57 N. Main St., WESTFORD, on Monday, October 17, 2016 from 4 to 8 pm. His Funeral Mass will be held celebrated on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church, 107 N. Main St., Westford. Interment will be private.
