William Joseph Ference, age 81, died Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. William was born December 19, 1934 in Whipple, West Virginia, son of the late Charles Ference and the late Emily (nee: Kopinski) Ferrence.
William was raised in West Virginia and later moved with his family to Detroit, Michigan. He served in the United States Army from June 5, 1957 until receiving his honorable discharge June 4, 1959, attaining the rank of Technical Specialist.
William returned to Detroit following his military service and went to work for the Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Company. William worked as a drug and pharmaceutical handler for Parke-Davis and later at Warner Lambert Pharmaceutical until his retirement.
When William was not working, he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and playing cards in his younger years. Later in life he was a homebody who enjoyed watching television, especially the Detroit Tigers,...and occasionally getting out to the casinos.
William was the beloved husband of Rosemary, and was the dear father of Debra (Robert) Donovan, and Michelle (Chip) Manery. He was the loving grandfather of Summer Rose Manery, and brother of the late Elizabeth Jasinski and brother in-law of Donald Jasinski.
