William V. Dailey
William V. Dailey, 87, of Penn Township, formerly of Blairsville, passed away Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017. He was born May 18, 1929, in Monongahela, son of the late Paul Herbert Dailey and Mary Hazel Reagan Dailey. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the Air Force. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and received his Bachelor of Science in 1952. He was a petro chemical engineer for Mine Safety Appliances Company, Exxon, and other companies for many years. He was a long time member of the Instrument Society of America and was named Fellow in 1995. An avid golfer, he was proud of his hole-in-one at Chestnut Ridge in 1997. William is survived by his wonderful wife of 37 years, Jeanette Pettner Dailey; five children, Michael Paul (Sharon) Dailey, of Bethel Park, Pa., Debra Lynn (Kirk) Franklin, of Wichita, Kan., Alan Robert Dailey, of Acton, Mass., Kim Lynn Dailey, of Gardiner, Maine, and Jeffery William Dailey, of Lubbock, Texas; nine grandchildren, Rachel, Benjamin and MaryRose Dailey, Joseph and Andrew Franklin, Apollo, Dustin and Winston Geroux and Sean Dailey; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Lois (Ralph) Keating, of Fairview Park, Ohio; and five nephews and many special in-laws. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the HART FUNERAL HOME INC., Murrysville. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, in the funeral home.
