SPARTANBURG, SC-- William Junior Champion, 80, of Spartanburg, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Junior was a native of Mill Springs, and a son of the late William Columbus and Myrtle Scruggs Champion. He was co-owner of Champion Paving Company. He attended Una Baptist Church. Junior was known as an outstanding heavy equipment operator. He is survived by a son: Billy Fred (Teresa) Champion of Inman; a brother: Mike (Margaret) Green of Woodruff; sisters: Shirley (Gary) Mahaffey of Inman, Deanie Duncan of Spartanburg, Judy (Ken) Rollins of Inman; one grandchild: Heather (Judson) McDowell; one great grandchild, Wyatt McDowell; and stepsons: Bradley and Adam Solesbee. He is pre-deceased by two brothers, Bobby Joe Champion and Maxie Green. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October15, 2016 at Eggers Funeral Home of Boiling Springs.
