Wayne J. Gunville
Gunville, Wayne J. Wayne J. Gunville, 76, Green Bay, died Thursday, February 16, 2017. He was born on June 12, 1940, in Nadeau, MI to Joseph and Helen (LeBeau) Gunville. Wayne graduated from West High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960 to 1964. On February 8, 1964, while stationed in Melbourne, Australia, he married Harriet "Rita" McEleny and they later made their home in Wisconsin near Wayne's family. He received his Associate's Degree in Electronics from Fox Valley Technical College in 1970. Wayne was employed by AT&T, retiring in 2005. As Scout Master with Boy Scout Troop #1002 for over 20 years, Wayne enjoyed sharing his Christian faith through music, helping with merit badges and his knowledge of the outdoors. He especially looked forward to the campouts, dutch oven cooking and ice cream at the trading post. Wayne was a longtime member of Annunciation Parish. He was involved with TEC (Teens Encounter Christ) and Koinonia. With the help of others, he wrote the TEC song in 1978 which is still used today at retreats. Wayne touched many lives with his guitar and his beautiful voice. He is survived by his wife, Rita Gunville; three children, Katrina Dodson, Jeffrey and Patricia Gunville, Elisia and Jamie Lewis; six grandchildren, Shaina Dodson, Stanley Dodson, Jacob Gunville, Kaeden Lewis, Hazel Lewis, and Lyle Lewis; his siblings and their spouses, Marge and Wilbur Fieck, Susan Kwarciany, Dale and Kathy Gunville, John and Jean Gunville, Fred and Mary Gunville, Mary and Gary Lepak, and Dorothy and David Demare; Rita's siblings and spouses, Jean Mills, May McKay, Christine Gorman, Irene (David) Cannon, Ian (Gail) McEleny, nieces, nephews, and friends. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Tom Kwarciany, Peter Devine, Bill Mills, Ian McKay, and Steven Gorman. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, February 19. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call at Annunciation Catholic Church, 401 Gray St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. The Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
