Wanda Green Switzer Balllinger Wanda Green Switzer, 86, of Ballinger, passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, in Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Concho County, Texas, to Ralph Edgar and Elsie Pearl (Gray) Green. After high school, she attended business college and began a 45-year career as a bookkeeper. She worked for Citizen's State Bank in Miles, Texas. She married Dawse E. Switzer on Sept. 2, 1951, in San Angelo, Texas. They shared 59 years together before his passing on Feb. 12, 2011. Wanda was an active member of the Ninth Street Church of Christ. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Terry; brothers R.E., Lloyd, Bill, Jim, Fat and Bigon; and sisters Opal Stockbridge, Claudia Smith, Juanita Bowman and Goldie Killian. She is survived by her son, David Switzer and wife Nancy of Ballinger; her daughter-in-law, Terre Switzer of North Little Rock, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Daron Switzer and wife Jennifer of Cabot, Arkansas, Seth Switzer and wife Cerina of San Angelo, Katy Davis and husband Josh of Ballinger, Morgan Hanson and husband Gary of Sweet Home, Oregon; her great-grandchildren, Cooper, Amberly, Micade, Mirenda, Peighton, Cheyenne, Avery, Saxton, Camden, Alexander and Myla; sister-in-law Margaret Green of San Angelo; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 at Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Ninth Street Church of Christ in Ballinger with Max Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Mereta Cemetery. The family wishes to express appreciation to the staffs of Ballinger Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Ballinger Memorial Hospital and Hospice of Ballinger, with special thanks to Stephanie Brandstetter.
