Menges III, Walter Lee 76, of Phoenix, passed away peacefully at home on April 15, 2017. Walter was born on April 22, 1940 to Walter Menges Jr. and Lorraine Brown in LaPorte, Indiana. Walter came to Phoenix with his family in 1958. He served in the U. S. Army Special Forces as a medic. He worked as a surgical technician at Good Samaritan Hospital while attending Arizona State University. He worked for many years in information technology as a salesman. Upon retirement he began his most meaningful and rewarding second career as a volunteer CASA for children in Maricopa County. Walter was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack Menges. He is survived by his wife, Patricia, his daughter Tracy, and extended family. Walter was a devoted and loving husband and father and is missed beyond expression. Walter had insatiable curiosity for all things in life. He never met a stranger. He was a life time enthusiast of model airplane building and flying. He loved people and Airedales.
