Walter C. Coward, Jr. - SAVANNAH - Walter C. Coward, Jr., 78, went home to be with the LORD October 17, 2016 at home surrounded by his wife and family. He was born February 22, 1938 in Savannah, GA. He obtained a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech. He retired from Georgia Power, was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and was actively involved in many churches, the Dolphin Project, and numerous other organizations. He was also very active in helping family and friends, a great patriot, and was an avid boater and fisherman. He was preceded by his parents Walter and Mary Coward, brother Arthur Coward, and beloved son Walter Coward III. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores Coward; son and daughter-in-law Edward and Rebecca Coward; daughter Loren Coward; grandchildren Amanda Coward, Melanie & Joseph Riffle, Justin Cole, Patrick & Christina Cole, and Marie Coward; great-grandchildren Aiden Riffle and Katharine Cole; sister Cynthia Coward; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm - 7:00pm on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 21, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Greenwich Cemetery. The family suggests any remembrances be made in his memory to Grace United Methodist Church.
