Walburga ("Wally") Wasil Walburga ("Wally") Wasil, 92, passed away peacefully on October 9th with her family at her side. Wally was born to the late Joseph and Anna Bush on April 13, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York. She married Ted Wasil in 1949, and they moved to Florida soon afterward. Four sons followed quickly over the next six years, and Wally spent the next 20+ years of her life as a full-time devoted Mom. Her husband, a sergeant in the USAF, was stationed in Korea and Greenland for extended tours of duty. Wally raised all four boys by herself during his absence, while also working full-time at Patrick Air Force Base. Wally was a parishioner at Ascension Catholic Church for over 50 years, and a long-time volunteer at Holmes Regional Hospital. Wally's legacy was one of deep and devoted love for family, caring and enduring relationships with great friends, and a positive and inspirational influence on all who knew her. She was generous, humble and genuinely interested in others more than herself. Wally lived a rich and rewarding life that also encountered its share of challenges. Through it all she remained positive and upbeat, a true friend and an inspiration to all who knew her. Wally is survived by her four sons Tom (Radda) of Seattle, Don (Judy) of Miami, Jim of Merritt Island, and Ken (Sylvia), of Tampa, five much-loved grandchildren, and one great grandchild A Funeral mass will be held in her honor at 11:30 on Friday Oct 21st at Ascension Catholic Church, immediately followed by a celebration of her life at Discovery Village (formerly Sonata). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Wuestoff Brevard Hospice, 661 Eyster Boulevard, Rockledge, FL 32955.
