Virginia Ann Heffernan Germantown, TN Virginia Heffernan died peacefully on April 15, 2017. She was born in Manhattan, New York to Eugene and Elsie Schneider. Family, friends and strangers can attest to Virginia's incredible kindness and generosity. She never hesitated to put others first, and her life was a beautiful gift to all she encountered. She displayed amazing courage, compassion and grace, especially during her struggle with Alzheimer's. Those who helped her during this challenging time, especially Evlean, Elizabeth, Hardin, Laura, and the staff at Page Robbins experienced her strength as she battled the overwhelming stress from the disease. They gave her many wonderful moments of peace and joy through their gentleness and empathy. She was preceded in death by her late husband of 36 years, Jack. She is survived by her children, Patti Russell (Gary), Judy Howard (Jock), John Heffernan (Penny), and Susan Jackson (Scott). Her grandchildren, Houston and Cameron Russell, Annie and Jack Heffernan, Jack and Ollie Howard, will dearly miss their "Grandy". Virginia's memory will be cherished by her sister and best friend, Betty Williams, her brother-in-law, Jim Campbell, her sister-in-law, Helen Mariano and her beloved golden retriever, Abby. The family will receive friends from 5:30 - 7:30pm, Wednesday April 19 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help church at 11:00 am, April 20.
