In memory of
Victor Puentes Aguilar
Victor Puentes Aguilar Somis, CA Victor Puentes A. passed away as peacefully as possible Saturday morning October 8, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He was home with his family in Somis, CA. He loved Somis ever since he arrived in the United States under the Bracero Program in the late 50's. After working all sorts of jobs he settled in Somis, CA in the early 60's. He later brought his family from Mexico in 1969. They fell in love with Somis too. He worked for almost 40 years with horses and the horse ranch. Not only did he train Tennessee Walking horses but also sold cars for Courtesy Chevrolet. He loved to sell horses, cars, anything. He worked seven days a week and was dedicated to his family. We all remember him always especially the family: Grandpa had the biggest heart, he was the biggest drinker and the biggest cowboy! His great grand daughter told him a bedside story during his last days : Grandpa when you get to Heaven, please tell Grandma that we said Hi. His granddaughter remembers that she was playing with a toy Ninja and he took it away from and was chasing her. Another grand daughter remembers Grandpa as a great inspiration and role model to all of his grandkids we couldn't thank him enough for all that he did for the family. Two other grand daughters remember it was fun doing what you weren't supposed to do; especially when Grandpa said No. It resulted in two holes in the wall of the hallway on Grandma's electric chair. Not only did they get in trouble with Grandpa but also with their parents. He was a quiet, powerful, reserved and with a good heart. Dad never said much, never yelled, always worked extra hard for his family. He was a quiet person and his heart was made of gold and although we put his hardworking hands to rest his love will remain an illusion and we are grateful to have gained an Angel. His brother who cared for him diligently was amazed at his strength in dealing with his illness, his love for family, and homeland, Jalisco, Mexico. Victor is survived by his immediate family in Ventura County with sons Raul, Adrian, Victor Jr., Johnny and daughter Dolores. His many grandkids: Carmen, Raul Jr., Olivia, Victor III, Anthony, Veronica, Alyssa, Bryanna, Nicholas, Jordan, Jessie, Steven, Gregory and Maggie. And, his two great grand dauthters, Emma Grace and Presley Monroe, and siblings Angel, Jerry, Felix, and sister Rutilia. A rosary will be recited at 7:00p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2016 at St. Mary Magdalen Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel, 2532 Ventura Blvd., Camarillo, CA 93010. Interment to follow at Santa Clara Cemetery.
