Vera Williamson Dixon, 96 years young, of Denham Springs, LA. Born June 18, 1920 in Akron, Ohio became heaven's newest angel on October 17, 2016. Vera was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to everyone she met. She loved the Lord and her family. She was an incredible example of love, complete selflessness, and pure humbleness. Vera is predeceased by her parents, Grover Lee Williamson and Lelia Drinkard Belle; her husband of 68 years, Jerry Leath Dixon of Denham Springs, LA; three beautiful daughters Cheryl Dixon Boykin, Betty Spillman and husband Ray Spillman and Vera Burke; sister, Clara Belle Williamson Lott; step-son, Jerry Leath Dixon Jr; and great-grandson Jared Warner. Vera is survived by her son, Gary Dixon; daughter, Mardie Burge; brother, Dick Williamson and wife, Yvonne Williamson; son in law, David Boykin; grandchildren, Keith Burge, Tonya Burge Warner, Dawn Dixon, Ricky Spillman and wife, Cindy Spillman, Mark Spillman and wife, Trudy Spillman, Chuck Spillman, Coty Boykin, and Chad Boykin, Cindy Hetrick; great-grandchildren, Glynn Burr, Victoria Burr, Zachary Burge, Brennan Burge, Kamryn Boykin, Korah Boykin, Samantha Spillman, Travis Spillman and wife, Ashley Spillman, Jennifer Spillman, Josh Spillman, Brandon Spillman and Dawn Guidry; and numerous great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. And her special loves: Pee-Wee, Chopper, and Patches. Vera is a member of First Baptist Church of Denham Springs. Services will be held Thursday, October 20, at First United Methodist Church on Matte St. in Denham Springs, LA.
