In memory of
Vann William White
Vann William White Knoxville, TN Our gentle witty Vann William White, 52, entered heaven on Tuesday, February 7, 2016. We know he is gazing at the most incredible wonders of nature his blue eyes have ever seen. If you ever met Vann you would have loved Vann. He loved Chevy trucks, John Wayne, Elvis, Nascar, Georgia Dawgs, hunting, fishing, Christmas Vacation, World War II movies, teaching science, personal notes from his students at Carter High School which he displayed proudly on his refrigerator, playing "Got you last" with his nieces and nephews, his crazy sayings, his dogs, and most of all his family. Vann loved God and was loved by God. He could clearly see that the natural world we live in was created with great purpose. He would point out the engineering mind of the honey bee in building a honeycomb to exact precision, the feat of strength and teamwork ants show in building a bridge to maneuver food, and how the earth was suspended in the atmosphere and if it were only a few feet closer we would all burn up. Vann believed God has revealed himself to every person through the powerful works of his creation so that no person is without excuse. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment-to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. Ephesians 1:8-10 NIV Vann leaves to cherish his memories of humor to his three children, Case White of Knoxville, Tennessee, Colby White of Nashville, Tennessee; and his forever sweetheart, Kendall White of Leander, Texas, who simply adore their father; to his favorite love his mother, Beverly White of Jasper, Georgia who taught him to love unconditionally. Preceded in death by his father, Richard H. White of Jasper, Georgia; to his brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Cindy White of Jasper, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Agayla Jane and Gerald Young of Jasper, Georgia; to the mother of his children, Patti White of Leander, Texas; to his in-laws, Doyle and Betty Naramore of Jasper, Alabama; to his sister-in-law, Joann Lawhorn of Liberty Hill, Texas; to his nieces and nephews, Chelsie White, DeLauren White, Hayley Lawhorn, Autumn Young, Ryan Lawhorn, Chandler White, Tyler Lawhorn, and Reid Young; great-niece Abagail Prucka; and his dogs, Zoe, Pebbles and Bam Bam. To honor their father, the children set up a Science Scholarship Fund to be awarded to one student pursuing a degree in science at Carter High School in Sweetwater, Tennessee where he taught science and one student at Pickens High School in Jasper, Georgia where he attended high school, in lieu of flowers. www.youcaring.com/vannwhite-754733 . Services were held at Roper Funeral Home on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Vann was cremated and returned to nature on Sunday, February 12, 2017. We are heartbroken for ourselves but we rejoice knowing Vann is in heaven and we will be united with him again. Vann the teacher would encourage you to "show proof" that you know the answer to where you will go. He would tell you that you want Jesus Christ to say "Got You Last!" ... Show More
