Vanda E. Hawk, age 90, a resident of Mechanicsburg for over 52 years, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at VibraLife in Mechanicsburg. Born February 12, 1926 in Hershey, PA, she was the daughter of the late Salvadore and Nella (Cagnoli) Colangelo. Vanda was introduced to music at an early age. Vanda also shared her knowledge and talents by teaching music education to the students of Cumberland Valley and Northern school districts. She was always caring about her friends, family and her special pet Marty. Her unique sense of humor and humbleness will be greatly missed. Hawk; her three daughters Cindy Connors and Susan Knesevitch both of Colorado; Sandra Colangelo of New Mexico; a brother John "Jack" Colangelo of Mechanicsburg; two grandchildren Shawn and Jessie Connors, a great grandson Owen Connors as well as many nieces and nephews.
