Valeria Lucretia Kenney Vezakis October 10, 1944 - October 14, 2016 Valley passed away peacefully in her home Friday, October 14, 2016, surrounded by the love of her family. Valley was born to Laura Evans Kenney and Donald Kenney on October 10, 1944. The most precious memories of her childhood were growing up on her family's ranch on Strawberry Creek. She loved sharing stories of the many adventures she had on the ranch with her brother, Hugh, and sister, Donna. The family later moved to Appleton where they welcomed the addition of her brother, Les. Valley's sophomore year of high school, her family moved into Grand Junction where she attended Central High School. It is there that she met the love of her life, George Vezakis. The high school sweethearts were married shortly after graduation on July 7, 1962. George and Valley were blessed with three children, Debra, Susan and Dan. They raised their family with the love of the great outdoors. Many memories filled with adventures camping, fishing, hunting and boating at Lake Powell. In their later years, George and Valley were fortunate to make five trips driving to Alaska to visit their son, Dan. Valley loved to sew, making all of her children's clothes, crochet, garden and bake. She loved all of the family vacations with her children and grandchildren, driving cross country to North Carolina, sharing trips to both Disney World and Disney Land. Every chance she could she would have her grandkids stay over, baking dozens of cookies through the years. We were blessed with an amazing wife, mom, and grandma. Our hearts will be forever filled with our love and wonderful memories of her. Valley is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, George; her daughters, Debra Vezakis, Susan and Jeff Orosz; son Dan and Nina Vezakis. She has seven grandchildren, Shasta, Brandon, Zach, Michelle, Logan, Ashleigh, and Jessica and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her brother, Hugh and Clarice Kenney; sister, Donna and Steve Campbell and brother, Les and Donna Kenney. Valley was preceded in death by her loving parents and her beautiful granddaughter Ashleigh. A private family celebration has taken place. Our family would like to express our gratitude to all of the wonderful people at both La Villa Grande's Bridge to Rediscovery and HopeWest.
