Tristan Grant Timinskas, 64, went to be "Heaven's handyman" on October 6, 2016. Tristan is survived by his wife of 33 wonderful years, Roberta; three children, Tristan Timinskas of Midland, Thomas Timinskas of London, England, and Elizabeth Ward and husband Chase of Coahoma; five grandchildren, Megan Hurst, Callum Hurst, Catch Ward, Jake Timinskas, and Tiegan Timinskas; two brothers, Douglas Timinskas of Midland and Michael Cross of Tyler; three sisters, Loreen Broom, Darlyn Callen and husband Dale Callen, all of Midland, and Marilyn Young of Garland; along with many beloved nieces and nephews; and by dearest friends, Steve and Christel Neal and Stacy Kendrick. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Bernice Cross; sisters, Judy Keiper and Pamela "Penny" Kress; and by his brother, Albert "Ducky" Timinskas. Tristan was born in Hartford, Connecticut on June 6, 1952. He attended and graduated from Lee High School in 1971. Shortly after, he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served the country for 10 years and was honorably discharged in 1981. On March 11, 1983 he married the love of his life, Roberta. Tristan owned and operated S.M.A.R.T. (Small Maintenance and Remodeling Team) and was well known for his signature yellow van. Tristan also worked for the Midland Rockhounds for 27 years, a job which he truly loved. He volunteered for the St. Ann's fair for 22 years and worked with the Boys and Girls Club. Tristan was a creative man who enjoyed carpentry, building custom furniture, playing pool, darts, fishing, camping, and the Dallas Cowboys. During his battle with cancer, Tristan always had a smile on his face and a thumbs up letting everyone know he was doing well. His contagious smile and love for his community will be greatly missed. He never let his illness get him down or take his spirit away.
