She attended Monroe Schools and graduated with the Class of 1981. She continued her education at the Michigan College of Beauty, earning her license in Cosmetology. Tobi married James Grove, and together the couple would share in the birth of a daughter: Chelsea. For many years, Tobi would work as a beautician, while also caring for the needs of her family as a homemaker. She would marry Russell Young, on November 12, 2010 in Toledo, Ohio. Tobi was always a pleasure to be around and a ton of fun. She had an infectious laugh and a warm smile. She was outgoing and adventurous, enjoying the time she spent whether traveling or camping, visiting the casinos, shopping, eating out or attending concerts. The relationship that Tobi truly cherished the most was that with her only grandchild: Brooklyn, whom she loved to spoil. Tobi loved music and she was an avid Blake Shelton fan. Her family joked that it was borderline obsessive. She also had an infatuation with Dragonflies, proud to show off several as body art.
