GRAHAM - Mr. Timothy Ivey "Tim Bob" Matthews, 70, of 119 North Main Street, Graham, NC, passed away on Monday October 3, 2016 at his residence. A native of Wake County, NC, he was the son of the late John Ivey and Madeline Shaw Matthews. Tim was a graduate of Campbell University where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree and after graduating from Campbell, he was a teacher for four years. After his time teaching, he started Matthews Tree Service which supported the Alamance County area for numerous years. In 1984 Tim bought the Graham Cinema which was a love and a passion for him for he always enjoyed seeing people and the smile on kids' faces going to the movies. Tim was one to always put others before himself and he was always willing to share a joke with a friend or a stranger if he thought it would brighten someone's day. You could always hear one of his jokes by calling the Graham Cinema and getting a good laugh. Survivors include his daughter, Kathryn M. Murray and husband William, of Snow camp; sons, Timothy Scott Matthews and Thomas Manning Matthews, both of Graham; grandchildren, Logan James Murray, Kathleen Jillian Murray and Olivia Madeline Murray; sister, Carey M. McMains and husband Worth, of Apex; brothers, John Dudley Matthews and wife Bonnie and David Daniel Matthews, both of Raleigh; and a host of nieces and nephews, and the mother of his children, Ann Matthews Holt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cameron Ivey Little. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Graham Cinema located at 119 North Main Street in Graham with the Pastor Kevin Baker officiating.
