In memory of
Thomas Riley Weise
Weise, Thomas Riley 1930 - 2016 You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough. Thomas Riley Weise left us on October 11th 2016 at his home in Phoenix, AZ and he did so smiling with no regret and his loving wife Kelly at his side. At 86 years old he had seen and done everything he wanted to. He had spent time in the pacific aboard the USS Queenfish (SS-393) before starting a family with his beloved Mary in Camillus, NY. There they raised four boys and the adventures just began. Tom's career with General Electric took him to Florida and then to Pennsylvania before eventually settling in Phoenix for the sons to finish high school and where he joined Honeywell Corp. Every person who ever met Tom loved him instantly. He was generous, fun and always intensely focused on the person across from him in making sure they understood they were important. Mary and Tom traveled the country in an RV together getting into their own adventures after retirement and adored each of their five grandchildren at the time. Tom lost his wonderful wife Mary in 1991 and continued the adventure in her honor. He traveled the world including his ancestral home of Cork, Ireland and was very passionate about his heritage right to the end. Tom was originally a golfer and even worked at golf course later in life. He often spent time in his workshop building doll houses for his granddaughters at the time Brittany and Ashley. Tom's passion was his one of a kind family. Every year he would gather with them in Flagstaff, AZ to celebrate being with his new grandchildren and welcomed five great grandchildren. He and his wife Kelly would frequently visit Wisconsin enjoying the lake and peace of the woods in the summer. They would always be back in September in time to see the family in Arizona all in one place. Tom was born Thomas Patrick Riley III and lost his father at a very young age. He thought the world of his stepfather Paul and frequently rejected the idea of changing his name back. To this day the wonderful family he built is absolutely his and he invested in it every day until his last. He is survived by his wife Kelly, his four sons Tom, Chris, Joe and Mike. He is greatly missed by his seven grandchildren Jarrod, Brittany, Erik, Brendan, Ashley, Riley and Chris. He is celebrated by his five great grandchildren Hannah, Haley, Jameson, Henry and Alyse. He was loved dearly by all that ever knew him. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church, 6180 W Utopia Rd, Glendale, AZ. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 am. Please visit the memorial website at In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of the Valley at .
