Thomas J. Carew AGE: 80 • Lake Hiawatha Thomas J. Carew passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Saturday, October 15, 2016. He was 80 years old. Thomas was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and later moved with his wife and two daughters to Lake Hiawatha in September of 1972. He worked in heating and cooling maintenance for Hewlett Packard in Rockaway and was a member of Saint Peter the Apostle Church in Parsippany. Thomas was also a talented musician and most of all a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Thomas was predeceased by his grandson, Sean Mulligan, and his sisters Frances Galbraith and Mary Tait. He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Carew (née Shine); daughter Patricia Giercyk and her husband, Steve of Lake Hiawatha; daughter Eileen Mulligan of Weymouth, MA; his brother, Brian Carew of Suffern, NY; his sisters Brigid Amundsen of Mt. Sinai, NY and Margaret Cech of Myrtle Beach, SC; his four grandchildren, Kristin Mulligan and her husband, Mark, Kathleen Mulligan and her fiancée, Michael, Caroline Giercyk and Stephen Giercyk; and his two great-grandchildren, Brendan Mulligan and Maeve Mulligan Phillips. Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Rd, Parsippany (To contact: (973) 887 - 3235 or visit www.partroyfuneralhome.com .) The Liturgy of Christian burial will be on held Friday, October 21 at 9:30 am at Saint Peter the Apostle Church at 179 Baldwin Rd, Parsippany, followed by the interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Tom's family wishes to express their gratitude to the many doctors, nurses and other members of the healthcare community that cared for him over many years.
