In memory of
BLACKWOOD, Thomas Edwin Born May 10, 1953, passed on October 9, 2016 from complications due to hidradenitis suppuritiva alongside a new cancer diagnosis. He is survived by his wife Carol Farabee Blackwood, daughter Maddrey Blackwood, sister Mimi Blackwood Smith, brother-in-law Mark Smith, niece Jessica Smith Abbondanzio, and mother Dorothy Blackwood. He is preceded in death by his father Rupert Blackwood. He was a graduate of Lancaster High School class of 1971, received his bachelors in Political Science from Austin College in 1975, and his MBA from Southern Methodist University in 1978. He impacted the world in innumerable ways as an incredible writer, performer, comedian, mediator, father, husband, brother, son, and friend. Most importantly he loved everyone around him regardless of race, status, sexual orientation, or creed and was active in his church. There was no one like him and anyone who has met him knows that he was the smartest, most selfless, and funniest person in the world. We will all miss him but we're happy he's found peace. Services will be held at 2 pm this Friday, October 14th at Northpark Presbyterian Church 9555 N Central Expressway Dallas, TX. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Northpark Presbyterian All Saints Fund or donate food to the Vickery Meadow Food Pantry; two organizations close to Tom's heart.
