Thomas Arel Sr.
Thomas Arel, Sr. 85, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his home in Westminster, CO. Tom was born in Fall River, MA. to Walter Arel and Anna Brown. He joined the Navy at age 17, and proudly served his country for four years during the Korean War (Tin Can Sailor). He married Blanche Paul and had two children, Thomas, Jr. and Pauline. He later married Marilyn Miller and had four children, Loraine, Melanie, Rosalynne, & Dale. They later divorced. He worked for Sundstrand for 32 years as a machinist and then a supervisor; he retired in 1988. After his retirement, he served as an ambassador at Denver International Airport for many years. He was a wonderful dancer, loved to listen to his old records, and enjoyed reading. He spent his later years traveling and visiting family. Tom is survived by his children, Thomas (Victoria) Arel, Pauline (Shawn) Tippetts, Loraine (Cecil) Peel, Melanie Ashley, Rosalynne Arel, and Dale Arel, sisters Pauline Langevin, Claire Cunha, Pat Daniels and brother Vincent (Audrey) Arel. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, wife Blanche, Brother Walter (Buddy), Sister's: Alma, Rosemary, and Eleanor, brothers-in-law Oscar, Jack, Tony Cunha & Tony Estrella. Cremation has taken place and Tom will be laid to rest beside Blanche in Fall River, MA at a later date. Tom will be greatly missed by all who he left behind.
