Theresa "Kay" Murphy
Murphy, Theresa "Kay" 10/20/1939 - 4/14/2017 Grand Rapids Theresa Kay Murphy, (nee Crawford) 77, or Grand Rapids, Michigan, passed away peacefully, Friday April 14th, 2017. Her siblings, Jimmy, Sue, and Jackie, as well as her niece and nephew, Barry Crawford, and Saraya Crawford Rice, were lovingly by her side, as she passed. She is survived by her children, Sandra (Steven) Douglas, of Warren, MI, and Robert (Chrystal) Murphy, of Fort Gratiot, MD. Her grandchildren, Jason Norman and Kristin Norman, of Warren, MI. Kaiya Murphy, of Atlanta GA. Michael Williams, and Adante Jones, of Southfield, MI. Her Great-grandchildren, Alyssa Hatcher of Warren, MI, and Carter Smith, of London, Ontario, Canada. In addition to her children and grandchildren, she also leaves to cherish her memory, her sisters, Marilyn "Sue" Cummings, and Jacquelyn Elaine Crawford, both of Grand Rapids, MI. Her brothers, Malvern Crawford Jr. of Southfield, MI, Robert "Bobby" Crawford, of Grand Rapids, MI, Paul Crawford of Hilo, HI, James (Gertha) Crawford of Ocoee, FL (who also served the last two years as her guardian, and tender caregiver), and Donald Crawford Sr. of Los Angeles, CA. Theresa (Kay, as she was called by all who knew her) also had many, many, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, that she loved with her whole heart, and they loved her the same way. We shall ALL will miss her dearly. She was also the best fudge maker on the Planet! When you mentioned 'Kay's fudge" EVERYONE knew who, and what, you were talking about! She was predeceased by her parents, Malvern Sr. and Theresa B. Crawford. Her daughter, Karen Marie Murphy Williams. Her sisters, Arvis Flowers, and Joan McIntosh. Her brother Alan Crawford. Her nieces, Nancy Lenoir and Debbie McIntosh. Her nephews, Jerry "Scotty" Cummings, Darrell Cummings, Robert Flowers, and her sister in law, and best friend, Gwendolyn Crawford. Visitation and viewing for family and friends, will be held on Thursday, April 20th, 2017, at 2pm, at Michigan Cremation and Funeral Care, 3627 Linden Avenue S. E., Grand Rapids, MI, 49548, with the service immediately following from 3-4pm. Cremation will take place after the service. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home, and donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
