In memory of
Theresa "Toni" Mashburn
Theresa "Toni" Mashburn (nee Moszelt) Toni Mashburn passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2016 due to complications from Alzheimer's, which she had battled for many years. She was a 1945 graduate of Coventry High School Class where she was the homecoming queen in the fall of 1944. Her relationship with her husband of 66 years, Charlie, began when she was a junior and he was a sophomore at Coventry and they appeared together in the school play "Best Foot Forward". Following graduation, Toni worked at O'Neil's Department Store where she operated an elevator - dressed up and wearing white gloves - and some modeling. She lived her entire life in the Portage Lakes and wintered in Englewood, Florida until she was no longer able to do so. Toni was preceded in death by her mother, Theresa Moszelt; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" Brooks and brother, Joseph May. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles Mashburn; children, Jeff (Shelia), Leslie Sue Harth and Jim; grandchildren, Kim, Charles (Billie Kay), Steven, Jimmy and April; great-grandson, Alexander; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family would like to thank Twilla, Cindy, Barb and Melody for all of their assistance in enabling Mom to be cared for at home for all of these years; and also Visiting Nurse Service Hospice Care. Mom was always gently cared for with dignity. A very special thank you to Kathleen Lozier who has become indispensable to the family over the years. Funeral service will be held at NOON on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Schermesser Funeral Home, 600 E. Turkeyfoot Lake Road (SR619). Family and friends may call on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made in Toni's name to Alzheimer's Association, Greater East Ohio Area Chapter, 70 W. Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236.
