MOUNT CARMEL — Theresa Festa, 100, of 24 E. Third St., Apt. 300, passed away Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital. She was born in Hoboken, New Jersey, May 16, 1916, a daughter of the late Frank and Concetta (Laino) Ferrando. She was employed as a manager of a jewelry store. In 1938 in St. Anne Church, Hoboken, she married the late Dominick Festa. She was a member of Divine Redeemer Church, Mount Carmel. Survivors include two daughters, Rae Amato, of Glen Gardner, New Jersey, and Theresa DeMarco, of Shamokin; two granddaughters, Martha Kramer and her husband, Marc, of Clinton, New Jersey, and Theresa Lloyd, of Glen Gardner; six grandsons, Robert DePalma and his wife, Angela, of South River, New Jersey, Christopher DePalma and his wife, Carolyn, of Monroe, New Jersey; Jeff DePalma and his wife, Jennifer, of Monroe, New Jersey; Joel DePalma and his wife, Mary, of San Francisco, Michael DeMarco, of Littleton, Colorado,; and Edmund Schroback and his wife Caroline, of Colorado; and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie DePalma, and two sons-in-law, Robert DePalma and Angelo Amato. FESTA — Theresa Festa, 100, of 24 E. Third St., Apt. 300, Mount Carmel. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Divine Redeemer Church, 300 W. Avenue, Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Martin O. Moran III officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Mausoleum, South Amboy, New Jersey. Viewing will be held from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday with Transferal Prayers at 10 a.m. in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, Supervisor.
