Mr. Theodore "Sonny" Pryor
Mr. Theodore "Sonny" Pryor, 84, of Mount Airy Ave., Waynesboro, died Sunday evening, April 16, 2017, in his home. Born October 18, 1932 in Rouzerville, PA, he was the son of the late Theodore and Anna (Ott) Pryor. He was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area. Sonny served with the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He and his wife, the late Dorothy J. (Shockey) Pryor, were married on March 18, 1957. Mrs. Pryor died on September 15, 2015. Sonny worked for Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, retiring in 1996. Following his retirement, he worked as a security guard at the Grit Mill, Blue Ridge Summit, PA, until he was 80 years old. He was a member of Calvary Chapel, Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15, and William Max McLaughlin V.F.W. Post #695, all of Waynesboro. Sonny enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, football, attending races, including working in the pits, photography, and spending time with his family. He is survived by three children, Robert Reed, Melanie High, and Ivy Freelove, all of Waynesboro; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one nephew. He was the last of his immediate family. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two infant great-grandsons, Brad Daywalt and Steven Reed; two sisters, Marie Harbaugh and JoAnn Pryor; and one brother, John Pryor. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, April 20, 2017, in Calvary Chapel, 13318 Mentzer Gap Road, Waynesboro, with Father Fred Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in the adjacent church cemetery, where military graveside honors will be conducted by the Charles Nitterhouse V.F.W. Post #1599 honor guard, Chambersburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Thursday morning, in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Calvary Chapel, P.O.
