Theodore Raymond "Teddy" Pleshe 1925 - 2017 Theodore Raymond "Teddy" Pleshe, 92, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at his home. He was born on April 2, 1925 in Bulpitt, IL, the son of the late Nicholas and Antonia (Klaric) Pleshe. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Honolulu. He later worked as a Stationary Engineer for the state of Illinois. He was an avid horseback rider, loved to tend his garden, loved to entertain and dance to Big Band music and was the "Garlic King" of the Kincaid Garlic Fest. He is survived by his daughter Angela (husband Dean) Fox of Pawnee, Illinois, his 3 grandchildren Jessica R. Patrick, Reid T. Patrick, and Cara M. Cianferri; his companion Rosemary Fairweather of Springfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Pauline Schloz, Louis Pleshe, Genevieve Pleshe, Pete Pleshe, Marjorie Zanotti, Catherine Whitson, Mary Pleshe, Joseph Pleshe, and Joann Schmuck. Services are under the direction of Bisch Funeral Home West, 2931 S. Koke Mill Rd., Springfield, where visitation will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee, IL, with military honors provided by the U.S. Navy. Celebration of Life for friends and family to follow. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
