Thelma Lucille Phillips Braden
"I'll fly away." Thelma Lucille Phillips Braden, age 83, of Erie (Brevillier Village), has left our world on the way to be with her Lord, on Monday, October 17, 2016. She was born in Jamestown, N.Y., on November 23, 1932, the daughter of the late Alonzo "Lonnie" Phillips and Floris Mae Schrader Phillips. Thelma was the previous owner of Cheryl's Hallmark Shop at 38th and Liberty from 1988 until her retirement in 1994, when she relocated to North Fort Myers, Florida, with her husband, Tom. Previously, she was employed at the Hallmark Card stores in the Millcreek Mall for 14 years and the Holiday Inn Corp. for 14 years. Thelma enjoyed raising her three children and decorating her many homes. She participated in decorating the many dances and affairs she attended. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Braden; son, Michael Braden; brother, Bruce Phillips; and her cat, Angel. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Hanson (George); son, Daniel Braden; five grandchildren, Killi Rizzo (Joe), Kevin Tolon (Ashley), Sarah, Hannah and Zachary Braden; great-granddaughters, Kelsey, Aubree and baby Tolon on the way. She is further survived by sisters, Joyce Noyer and Naomi Diggs; her Louisville, Ky. family; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., 2607 Buffalo Rd., on Thursday from 5 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service there at 7 p.m., conducted by Rev. Mary Lord.
