Feldman, Sylvia Sylvia Maxine "Maxi" Feldman passed away on October 15th after a battle with cancer. She is survived by her children, Daniel Shapiro of Philadelphia and Amanda Shapiro of New York City, her husband Bryan Masback of Harrison, New York, a daughter-in-law Rebecca Shapiro, two grandsons Nathan and Henry, and sisters Helen Brown of Ottawa, Canada and Linda Day of Wilmington, DE along with nieces, nephews and cousins. Maxi was born in Wilmington, DE on January 10th, 1948 to Nathan and Veronica (Scherry) Heiligman. A graduate of SUNY Farmingdale, she was a practicing dental hygienist for 46 years in Philadelphia and then Westchester County. She was an active member of Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation of White Plains, a loving mother and grandmother, a gardener, a bowling enthusiast, and a volunteer. Maxi was a friend to many and admired for her spirit, her positive attitude and her good advice. A memorial service will be held at Community Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 468 Rosedale Avenue, White Plains at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22nd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you contribute to a charity of your choice or to Cycle for Survival - "Maxi's Team" - which is captained by her daughter, Amanda. All proceeds go directly to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
