Suellen Pegg Eadler Grant, 75, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2017, at Carolinas Medical Center. She was born July 2, 1941 in Richmond, IN., a daughter of the late Arnold Crane and Mary Louise Pegg Ealder. Suellen was forever the consummate educator, a devout Christian and a member of First United Methodist Church, Belmont. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was an avid quilter. Suellen was an advocate of the arts and a life-long learner. She is survived by her husband of six years, Frederick Ernest Englerth; children, Deborah Ruth Lentz and husband, William Lentz, Mary Elizabeth Sandy and husband, Joseph Allen Sandy, Jr., Marguerite Ann Coode, Juliet Adair Laughlin and husband, Darrell Ray Laughlin II; grandchildren, Matthew and Mark Lentz, Justin Espana, Alexis and Aaron Sandy, Keturah Coode, Andrew and Jacob Laughlin; great granddaughter, Aubrey Kae and Travis Goldstein, sister, Elaine Eadler. A service celebrating Suellen's life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, Belmont with Rev. George Ragsdale officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in Carpenter Hall. Those Blessed by Suellens had crafted gifts; Please bring items, stories or pictures to share during the receiving of friends.
