On November 21, 2016, Steven K. McGrew passed away at his home in Las Cruces, NM of heart complication due to many years of diabetes at the age of fifty-two. Steve will be remembered for his great sense of humor and the ability to tell wonderful stories and jokes. Steve was born on August 1, 1964 in Colorado Springs, CO. He graduated from Kwajalein High School in 1983 and then attended college in Colorado. He returned to Kwajalein in 1989 where he worked as a contractor for the Kwajalein Missile Range until 2003 when he relocated to Las Cruces. Steve loved to read, scuba dive, fish, and enjoyed the Island life. He was an active part time Disc Jockey for many years in Kwajalein at the Yokwe Yuk Club. Steve is survived by his parents, Carl and Claudine McGrew, of Las Cruces; his sister, Carla Jalbert, (Billy) and brother, Paul McGrew, all of Maui, HI; a niece, Malia Jalbert, and nephew, Ryder Jalbert. There will be a celebration of life January 4, 2017 in Colorado Springs with family and a host of friends. Steve's cremains will be returned to Las Cruces, for a Memorial Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church on January 12, 2017 at 10:00 AM and then placed in the St. Francis Columbarium. Steve loved music and the following lines capture his (our) faith, hope and love, "If you could see me now, I'm standing tall and whole, If you could see me now, You'd know I've seen His face."
