Steve M. Borkowski
Steve M. Borkowski, 61, passed away unexpectedly, while living in Henderson, Nevada. He was born in Erie, on July 31st, 1954, attended Mt. Carmel and St. Luke grade schools, Wilson Jr. High, St. Mark's Seminary and graduated from Tech Memorial. He was a highly gifted musician, composer, singer and skilled guitar player, who was invited to audition with the band "Chicago," as well as performed with many popular local bands, including Vertical Union, Visions, Ron Seggie Band, Sasey Class, Montage, Moonlighters and Wave. Steve continued performing after moving to the Las Vegas area, and most recently volunteered in music ministry at three local churches in the Henderson area, which gave him his greatest joy. He was also a co-partner in a lucrative Ebay business, but will be remembered most for his love of cars, through sales at several dealerships in the Erie area, including Champion Ford, as well as in Henderson, Nev., at Findlay Toyota. Steve was preceded in death by his mother Janet Pettinato Borkowski, and beloved fiancée Cindy Henry. Surviving family members include his father Edward "Whitey" Borkowski, daughter Nicole and granddaughter Avery, sister Sandy and husband Joseph Zauhar of Pennsylvania, sister Sharon and husband Stephen Milovich of Pennsylvania, and sister Annette and husband Tom Rogers of Idaho. He is survived by numerous cousins, as well as nieces and nephews Stephanie and Adam Spohn and daughter of New Mexico, David and Erin Orcutt and family of Colorado, Stephen, Stephanie (goddaughter) and Sammy Milovich of Pennsylvania, and Tony (godson) and Alex Rogers of Idaho. Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Luke Church, 421 E. 38th St., Erie, Pa., on Friday, October 21st at 10:30 a.m. The Rosary will be recited at 9:50 a.m., prior to mass. Burial will be private at Trinity Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Human Life International, 4 Family Life Lane, Front Royal, VA 22630-9865. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Carl A.
