Shirley June Wills Lansing Shirley June Wills was born in Lansing, Michigan 88 years ago the daughter of Floyd and Marjorie Watkins. She graduated from J.W. Sexton High School and attended Michigan State University. Shirley was one of the nine founding mothers of the Les Meres et Debutantes Club of Greater Lansing. She was associated with the Lansing Black Catholics, past president of the Lansing Negro Business Women's Association, Les Amis, a member of the Chowanoke (Indian) Nation, Girl Scout leader and a Mary Kay Consultant. Shirley retired from the Lansing School District as a teacher aide. She enjoyed traveling especially cruising with family and friends. Shirley loved her family and leaves behind to cherish her memory: Clarence (Tony) Wills her devoted spouse of 68 years; daughters, Linda Williams, Stephany Wills-Boyd (Cleveland), and Luanne Wills-Merrell; two grandsons, Carl Williams and Christopher Merrell; and a host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Marjorie and her brother Frederick (Buddy) Watkins. Visitation will be from noon to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Riley Funeral Home 426 West St. Joseph Street, Lansing, MI. The family hour will be from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening beginning with a rosary. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's Cathedral 219 Seymour Lansing, MI on Friday October 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m.
