Toler Shirley "Toni" Toler was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She died, surrounded by family, at her daughter's home in Phoenix on August 31, 2016, after a hard fought battle with ALS. Toni attended Wayne State University in Detroit. In 1957, Toni married William A. Toler and moved to Columbus, Ohio. Toni was a woman dedicated to her family; she stood at its center and, with unwavering devotion, gave it structure, support and life. Selfless, her love for those she cared about knew no bounds. Toni was a Member of The Columbus of Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and The Columbus Chapter of The Carousels, Inc. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Toler, M.D., Judge Lynn Toler; son-in-law, Eric N. Mumford; sister, Jean Livingston; grandsons, Xavier Mumford and William Toler-Mumford; as well as a host of other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in her name to the ALS Association at web.alsa.org/toler .
